For sale is a rare and exceptional 1999 Rolex 16700 "Pepsi" with the coveted “Swiss” Only Luminova dial, a unique feature that makes this piece even more desirable among collectors. This specific dial variant, produced during the final year of the 16700 model, is highly sought after due to its rarity and subtle vintage charm. The Luminova lume on the dial provides a beautiful, soft glow in low light, and it has aged gracefully over time, enhancing the overall character of the watch.

The 16700 was the last iteration of the Rolex GMT-Master before the introduction of the GMT-Master II, and this example is particularly special because it comes with a complete set: original box, Italy papers dated Oct 1999, booklets, and hangtag, adding significant value and collectability to this timepiece.

One of the standout features of this watch is its factory-fitted Jubilee bracelet, which was a more expensive option when purchased new and was particularly popular in Europe and North America. The Jubilee bracelet offers a more refined, dressy look compared to the standard Oyster bracelet, and it provides unmatched comfort on the wrist, making this model a true luxury piece.

In terms of technical specifications, the 16700 is powered by the Rolex Caliber 3175 movement, a tried-and-true automatic movement with a 48-hour power reserve. & quick-set date function. Unlike the GMT-Master II (16710), which features an independently adjustable hour hand for tracking two time zones, the 16700 has a traditional rotating 24-hour bezel that allows the wearer to track a second time zone. The GMT hand is fixed, and it operates in tandem with the bezel to offer dual time-zone functionality, but it’s not as flexible as the GMT-Master II’s independently adjustable hour hand.

The Pepsi bezel, with its vibrant blue and red colors, is a classic and iconic design that has become synonymous with the GMT series, making this watch instantly recognizable. As the final production year for the 16700 before it was replaced by the 16710 GMT-Master II, this piece marks the end of an era in Rolex’s GMT history, making it even more collectible.

This example is in excellent condition for its age, with only light signs of wear. The bezel, dial, and crystal are all in superb shape, showing that it has been meticulously cared for over the years. The full set, along with the unique Swiss Only Luminova dial and the more expensive Jubilee bracelet, makes this an outstanding piece for any Rolex enthusiast!
