The Rolex Submariner 1680, introduced in 1969 & produced till 1979 marked a significant evolution in the Submariner line as the first to feature a date function. It combined the robust design of its predecessors with a date complication, enhancing its utility for divers and watch enthusiasts alike.
This particular example dates to 1978 and is in excellent condition, featuring a robust case with strong lugs and crown guards. The watch movement has been fully serviced by Watch District Restoration Centre.
The Mk2 matte white dial showcases creamy off-white hour markers and matching original hands, forming a harmonious & desirable vintage patina.
The MK3 black bezel insert is nicely aged, complete with the original pearl. It comes with a period-correct Oyster bracelet, 93150, in good condition, featuring a clasp stamped ‘VB’ and endlinks stamped ‘580’.
